well coming from a guy who's dad made him drive a stick before anything else...i'd have to say that it's not hard driving a stick at all...if you have a friend with a manual vehicle...just ride with him/her for a little bit and pick up on some of the things that you see them do..that's how i started getting a lot better...but the XR is a great truck...i dont plan on getting rid of it for awhile...no matter how much gas gets...although it seems to be on the downfall right now...but to answer your question...some people have been able to squeeze up 25-30mpg...while others with performance mods have gotten low to high teens!! if you're thinking about getting an XR there's no better site to browse that [url]www.xr-underground.com[/url]
