Masta Killa - Selling My Soul (2012) Masta Killa - Selling My Soul 2012 Tracklist: 01 - Skit 02 - Intro 03 - Soul & Substance 04 - R U Listening 05 - Things Just Ain't The Dame 06 - Part 2 07 - Cali Sun (feat Kurupt) 08 - What U Szee 09 - Food 10 - Skit 11 - All Natural 12 - Wise Words 13 - Divine Glory 14 - Skit 15 - Dirty Soul (feat Ol' Dirty Bastard) Producers: 9th Wonder; Allah Mathematics; Blackinati; Dash; Inspectah Deck (of Wu-Tang Clan); Koolade; Masta Killa (of Wu-Tang Clan); Mediate Soul; PF Cuttin Label: Nature Sounds; Royal Lion Music Release Date: 12/10/2012 Category: CDs > Hip Hop & Rap Price: $15.97 Masta Killa may not be the most high-profile member of the Wu-Tang Clan, but he's undoubtedly among the most consistent. The last original member to go solo, Killa has released two critically acclaimed albums in No Said Date and Made In Brooklyn, and has repeatedly stolen the show on recent Wu classics like Ghostface's Fishscale, Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Pt. 2 and RZA's Man With The Iron Fists soundtrack. Now, more than six years after the release of his last studio album, Masta Killa is back with Selling My Soul, a brand new collection to be released December 11th, 2012 through Nature Sounds and Royal Lion Music. The title Selling My Soul may imply something sinister, but it has a deeper meaning for Masta Killa. "The music for this project was more in a soulful chamber," he explains. "Anything from the inner self is a part of the soul. I put my soul into my music, and I'm in the business of selling it." Featuring production from 9th Wonder, Mathematics, PF Cuttin, and more, Selling My Soul is a cohesive collection from an artist who doesn't feel pressured to change his sound. "I would describe it as soul and substance," says MK. "Soulful music and lyrics of substance." While fans will undoubtedly be excited for Selling My Soul, some may be confused, as it was initially announced that Masta Killa's latest album would be titled Loyalty Is Royalty. "This is a totally separate project," Killa explains. "Loyalty Is Royalty is more feature-oriented...it's the kind of material that my fans normally expect me to produce. The people will still get Loyalty Is Royalty. I just felt the need to give them some soul first." I love Wu-Tang. I love Masta Killa. I love No Said Date. This sh*t is trash! |
How is the Wu going to do a 20 years later from Enter the 36 when the gods are doing lame music projects like this? Man...this is sad. He definitely titled this album correctly. I'd rather get an album done by deck and mathematics than THIS. This sounds absolutely terrible. |

Its lame because you want to Pigeonhole Masta Killa to the Wutang sound? The video where he splits them 2 cali sounding joints are nice.... Not exactly Master pieces but it's nice to see dude having fun with life and not being so serious all the time.... The other track... Things just aint the same... is just some regular MK sh*t.... |
