Why We Want the 90's Back: Hot 97 Playlist From 1995
topic by ItsAlwaysMe - 12-27-2013, 07:17 PM

Its funny how people are quick to say that mainstream music has always been wack but this wasnt the case from like 93-99, give or take. Ignorant mutha####ers automatically write folk clamoring for the 90's back as being old and bitter but in reality music that came on the radio was quality cuts for the most part.

Of course you had you clown #### but there was so much quality Hip Hop and RnB that came on the radio I dont see how people wouldnt want to bring back the feel of the era. Look at this playlist from 95. Peep the diversity and the artist that was actually getting spins. I ####ing miss when radio mattered > Why We Want the 90's Back: Hot 97 Playlist From 1995 - Photo posted in The Hip-Hop Spot | Sign in and leave a comment below!

I remember when all of that used to play on Hot 97... And before the internet era, if ya wanted that hot ####, you had to cop a physical mixtape for all the b-sides, street remixes, and unreleased ####... Plus the exclusive freestyles!!!

Glaciers of Ice and Survival of the Fittest wouldn't dare get regular radio play in this climate of fvck ni##as!!!

Its not that we want to hear those particular songs jack a$s. It's the fact that, that's a line up of quality music. Pull a chart like that out for 2013 and its no comparison. k## yourself, slowly

Yeah, 90's radio had so much better quality. Radio has been dead for a long time

Imagine a new artist that sounded similar to GZA, Raekwon, or AZ getting play on the radio today.

Damn shame that the quality of what gets play on the radio has dropped tremendously because not enough people are pushing for it or buying it

Times have changed

R&B has died all the way down and pop has taken over. The only thing that can compete is trap/drill/DJ Mustard.
