| What was 2PAC like when he was Alive? By sandninja - 02-08-2010, 01:46 PM - Boxden > The Hip-Hop Spot I'm an '89 baby. My generation listened to posthumous 2pac. But i wanna know what he was like when he was alive and how the people viewed him. So please answer only if you're old enough to remember this Did they hate on him like we all make fun of Kanye? When we talk about kanye, it's always "Oh hes a musical genius but way too arrogant" When we talk about Jay-Z it's either "Oh hes the g.o.a.t.," or else camel jokes. Not to mention his marriage to Beyonce is of many conversations. With the Game it's "aw man dude can spit but he bipolar as f**k" with Wayne it's "Talented like a mothaf**ka but he kiss his daddy" What was pac's? | |

| he honestly wasn't that big until he got out of jail and joined Death Row. and then it was just everyone was either riding with Pac and the West, or Biggie and the east. i'm from the south so it wasn't really too loyal like those other regions but most people felt Pac more than Biggie down here. everyone just thought pac was kind of a crazy man some times, he went to jail and got in trouble with the law A LOT. that was his reputation. | |

| Too real.......get some 2pac documentary dvds and listen to the original makaveli mixtapes, all the original versions of his songs. he was hated on just as much, if not more than everyone else though. He's was and always will be bigger than Nas, Jay-Z, LiL Wayne and biggie. No one could hold a candle to his legacy. | |

| He was really well educated and was very opinionated and he had a lot to say(get 2pac Resurrection),when he went to Death Row he got to big for his boots unfortunately and started beefing with everyone. Last edited by ShadyVsEminem; 02-08-2010 at 02:04 PM.. | |

| absolutely horrific comparison......NOTHING at all comparable... in any event 2pac was pretty much loved from the giddy up of his solo career...his role in juice pushed him into the consciousness of the people a lot faster, and than his music following that up really kept him there...only time i can think that there started to really be some flack was when the rape case came against him....but even that was minor in comparison to the love dude got.... he was seen as a multitude of things...a rebel,a wild dude,an intelligent man,and tormented...he was easily one of the ten most interesting figures in music period...way more polarizing than any mc that came before him,or after him....you can tell with the passion that people either love him,or hate him even till this day....there reall is no in between.... had he actually lived though....i guarantee you the perception of pac would be completely different... | ||

| Ninja,I respect u for asking, some lil homies come in BX dissing Pac and not knowing the impact of his music and his whole style. PAC was one of best mc's ever, he told stories of the black community and the gangsta side of s**t. Niggaz was a GOAT! Posted via Mobile Device | |

| Let me tell you... Tupac was bigger than any rapper ever alive..not only because of his music...but because of his essence. he wasnt the best lyricist , best flow, nothing...he just was realer than anyone and stronger than anyone.....he had a vision that was worldly and wasnt constrained to just the black guy in the hood He was rich from the get go from his first records, and made it clear to the world that it wasnt about money anymore. He wanted to fix class structure, bring ppl together, point out the flaws of society and make this a better world. Lets put it this way...most rappers out today want to have their name written in stone as all time great hip hop acts.... Back then, there was no 'greatest hip hop artists' hype like the way it is now... These rappers want to be great musicians.. He wanted to be Malcom X, Martin Luther King Jr. watch his DVD's and interviews...u will learn more from them about him than u will from his music.
