| By DrX - 07-16-2012, 01:43 PM - Boxden > The Hip-Hop Spot !! it, on bx i always vow to always stay true and always keep an unbais opinion no matter what. I'm sticking to that. nas is my favorite artist but Ill be honest here. this album had everything for a classic, solid production, great lyrics, its smart and introspective, hardly any features. but i don't know, I'm just not interested in this album like past nas records. i can play stillmatic, god son, illmatic, lost tapes everyday and not get tired of them. life is good is just missing something, i cant quite put my finger on it really. I just don't feel anything from listening to it like all of nas albums after god son. I think beat selection plays a part. like i said the production is solid but the beats / lyrics combo just don't match. the only songs that i got that old school nas feeling from was trust, loco-motive, daughters, bye baby, black james bond and a few others. hell the bonus records vibe together perfectly. the main album is what fail, its weird because the lyrics are classic on every track just about but the album just isn't comprehensive. maybe i need more time but this is still nas best post god son work. i find my self still fiending for ross record when nas is my fave artist, that's not a good sign. IMO he need to go back to primo, les, large pro and mix in some new guys the og team just mix together well |

| Yeah, this album has only gotten better for me over time and I've been jammin' it nonstop since it leaked. Literally nonstop lol. Oh well, may just be a personal thing inside of you that's not mixing with album. May just not be the album you need in your life at the moment so it's really not sticking with you like others would. | Man I'm hearing everything from all sides, niccas are never satisfied. First it was "he's using too many of the same producers" (Salaam in this case) but then when he switches it up it's "he needs to go back to his old producers." I think it's time Nas got with some instrumental changes, he pulls his flashy flow off very well on the intricate beats. To be honest that grungy NY sound has gotten played out by now to me. It's 2012 & Nas even said on Loco-Motive that track was "for [his] trapped in the 90's niccas." You can't please everybody but I think Nas will please a LOT of people with this album. He already has so far... | |

| This is one of Nas' best albums. This album is for grown men..I can relate to everything he's been going through. The rhymes are on point beats are on point. I don't know what else you niccas want. | |
