Oct 25 - Memphis Bleek Delays Album, Talks Jay-Z

Since embarking on his fifth studio project in 2005, fans can expect even more delays as Memphis Bleek pushes back the album release date of The Process. The New York emcee spoke to Kendra G of Chicago's Power 92 about the expected set back. "I'm just taking my time with it, putting it together because this is what I dreamed of, dropping my own album on my own imprint. It can't get no better... It's just a 100% Bleek," he commented.

The Process, which was originally slated to be released November 24, is now being stalled until February. As Jay-Z's protégé, Bleek enlisted the support of Hov to executive produce the album and make a guest appearance, as well as production from No I.D. and Just Blaze. Both Rick Ross and Pharrell will be featured on the project as well.

Bleek also took the opportunity while speaking with Kendra G to talk about his friend and mentor. "I just wanted to use this opportunity, when [Jay-Z] did the Roc Nation thing. I took my time to step out of that shadow... I get a lot of ridicule for being there, but I just want to show people I can do this on my own too," he added.

As CEO of Get Low Records and affiliate of Mass Appeal Entertainment, this will be the first album released under his new label. Even though an official release date nor tracklisting has been revealed, Bleek promises fans that it will be in stores early 2010.

LoL I seen him at the Jay-Z show Wednesday.. Jay didnt even let him spit one verse haha just a hype man.... Just hope Jay dont outshine his whole album with one song again..

I remember actually buying his album that had the song "Round Here" back when I was buyin rocafella s**t. That album aint bad at all. Pretty solid to me.
