Oct 13 - Master P Determined To Help One Million Homeless People

Rapper-turned-businessman P. Miller, also known as Master P, recently teamed up with OneMillionGifts.org by donating not only his time but also with a generous money donation.

P will be helping the organization in the mission to clothe at least one million of the world's less fortunate throughout the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons.

"Growing up in poverty made me realize that most crimes are committed during Thanksgiving and Christmas," P explained. "Not only will we feed and clothe one million, but also we can help prevent a lot of those in need from committing crimes like robbing and stealing the food or gifts they can't afford during the holidays.

"Our mission is to bring hope to families by offering programs that help educate and rehabilitate families back into society. My personal goal is to get everybody involved. Even with the current downfall of the economy, each one of us can help make a difference by volunteering or donating," he continued.

The pioneering music executive who founded the highly successful label No Limit Record in the 1990s, says that he's going to go above and beyond to help the organization meet their goals by reaching out to all the contacts in his Rolodex to get them involved.

"I'm also reaching out personally to corporations, entrepreneurs, pro-athletes, entertainers, churches, foundations, radio stations, online media, TV stations, Oprah, Dr.Phil, and others that can help bring awareness to this great cause," he said. "Eight years ago, I realized that education saves lives and being charitable and helping those in need has given me a profound happiness in my life, as there is nothing more rewarding than bringing smiles to children who are less fortunate."

"I'm honored to be a part of this team," P added.
OneMillionGifts.org is a hands-on organization that sincerely cares about the community; ordinary people doing extraordinary things by connecting with families in need across the world. A large number of those being assisted are children and their parents who lack education, are homeless, have mental or physical disabilities, have life threatening illnesses, have parents facing addiction or come from single family homes or the foster care system.

I don't know how much he's still making, but the word in the 90's was that he had some ridiculous distribution deal with Priority when the popularity was at it's highest.

Obviously, I don't have the exact numbers, but P was seeing a lot of the money back on his releases. I think it was something stupid like 80/20.. but I can't make promises.

Remember, most of his early releases were local burners. The West Coast Bad Boys joints and s**t were moving upwards of 100,000 units out of trunks and local spots... until Ghetto D really blew up for him.

Most production was handled in house, so that was more money saved for the label.

So when that label blew up and he was everywhere, the dude really caked off on royalties and publishing. We talking a handful of Mystikal tracks, too (because I think P owns part of his publishing, but don't quote me).

Regardless, the dude got involved in real estate down in New Orleans, and had stupid money to do stupid things with, i.e. start a phone company, sports agency, movie studio, etc.

I imagine that Nickelodeon money was good to him, too.

Horrible f**kin' rapper.. but he gets busy.
