Despite making public appearances together in the past month, Queens rapper Nas’ divorce from his estranged wife R&B singer Kelis continues on.

According to TMZ.com, Nas lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan filed court papers today (November 2), seeking to block Kelis’ request for $72,728 a month in spousal support.

Nas had been ordered to pay Kelis $44,000 in child support payments in addition to a one-time payment of $45,000 to pay Rogers' attorney fees and for a forensic accountant.

In August, Kelis’ attorney Laura Wasser filed a motion seeking to increase amount to $72,728 in income based on the $240,000 the rapper earns per-month.

She also seeks $17,225 a month in child support, $72,728 in spousal support, $29,522 in back child support and finally, retro spousal support in the amount of $281,571.

Kelis gave birth to their Knight in July of 2009. After six years of marriage, she filed for divorce from Nas in April, citing irreconcilable differences.

In September, the pair were seen together at New York hotspot Marquee and other events, sparking rumors that the reconciliation might be possible.

In October, the IRS filed a lien against Nas, because the rapper owes $2,584,206.31 to the government for unpaid taxes on income earned throughout 2006 and 2007.

Nas is still fighting to keep his money from ending up in the pockets of ex-wife Kelis.

According to TMZ.com, Nas' lawyer, Marc Vincent Kaplan, filed legal papers requesting the judge bar his ex from receiving the $72,728 a month in spousal support she has requested. Additionally, the Queensbridge rapper is seeking joint custody of their infant son Knight.

As previously reported, Nas was ordered to pay Kelis $44,000 in child and spousal support plus her legal fees. Kelis' lawyer Laura Wasser filed a motion to increase the payments based on Nas' monthly income of $240,000. But Kelis didn't stop there; she also asked for more than $400,000 in additional support.

While pregnant, Kelis argued that she was totally dependent on her Nas' financial support as she was not able to work. A judge ordered Nas to flip the bill for her monthly mortgage payments, prenatal expenses and medical insurance.The couple split in April, citing irreconcilable differences. When they were spotted together recently in a New York City nightclub, it sparked rumors of a reconciliation, but that is clearly not the case.

These days Nas can't seem to catch a break, at least financially. Last month the IRS filed a lean against him for tax payments totaling $2,584,206.31 stemming from unpaid taxes in both 2006 and 2007.

What does Kelis do to help benefit Nas to getting more money, nothing. So let me get this straight.....The harder Nas works to get more money in his pockets, the more Kelis gets to lay back and not do s**t and get an increase on her already ridiculous monthly support??? The f**k is that, first off no infant needs $44,000 a month, 2nd kelis aint doin s**t she aint writing Nas's lyrics spitting the flow for him NOTHING she dont contribute s**t to the money the man is getting so what right does it give her to get an increase based on the man's continued hustle??
