Not going to listen to snippets but I'm glad the responses in this thread are positive. This and the Frank Ocean album are going to be the 1st records I've purchased in over 7 years. Need to support that real music

ross seems to always have that issue when he features on other ppls tracks..nicca will always have that be his downfall for a long time unless he steps it up

That is just foolish if an artist does not take any concern in the sound of the music. Nobody care how great the lyrics are to a song if it does not have a melody that they can vibe too.

I don't know of any huge records where the music was just terrible and the lyrics were just awesome and people fed into it. I mean you have to have good melodies if you want to sell music. That is why !!ty songs become so popular because the music is so catchy and people can groove it. Look at soulja boy for example.

The N's theory is false.

Proof: Nastradamus, Streets Disciple, and lots of I Am... there was nothing wrong with the lyrics on the majority of those albums, but people still disliked them and consider them the weakest amongst his discography largely because the beats, as a whole, were lackluster.

Hip-hop is a unique genre in that it is fueled equally in terms of lyrics and music. If the music sucks, then the lyrics lose a lot of their potency. If the music is good and the lyrics help, it can certainly help, but it's not going to have any staying power.
