Missy Elliott Recounts Abusive Childhood In VH1's "Behind The Music"

Misdemeanor exposes a traumatizing situation where her father pulled a gun out on her mother.

In her upcoming episode of VH1’s Behind the Music, Missy Elliott not only recounts her struggle with Grave’s Disease, but she also recalls her abusive childhood. In a clip released from the show via EW, the rapper’s mother, Pat Elliott, details a harrowing event where her abusive husband pulled out a gun and threatened to k!ll her.

“Missy saw that the fight was just beyond measures. My husband said this is it. I am going to k!ll you. It's over. I was so tired of being beaten over and over. I said, 'Fine, just do it,'” said Pat. “And by that time, my brother came in and they were wrestling with the gun, and my brother got the gun away from him.”

Missy witnessed the event, speaking on the traumatizing situation in the episode. “He pulled the gun out in front of me. I was screaming, 'Daddy, please don't k!ll my mother! Please don't k!ll my mother!'” she said. “I will never forget it. It was the most scariest time in my life.”

Missy Elliott’s episode is set to air tomorrow, June 29th, at 10 p.m. on VH1.

smh that's so sad, I saw the episode last night and it was very depressing that disease is still with her but she said she's been doing gr8 hope everything's well for her she was and still is the dopest female MC in my book
