i can understand people arguing other categories either way...
but how can jay z's "creativity/originality" be better than dmx's on their 1st albums?

DMX in his prime>Jay

X could have been a top 5 DOA, but he !!ed up.

I still listen to X first 3 joints over Jays joints, but its a shame how hard X fell off

Hands down DMX 1st album is doper then RD

When RD dropped, it didnt shake up the industry, it didnt make much of an impact at all. It went gold (not that record sales matter) Pac dropped 2 dope[..] albums that year lyrically it was ill but It Was Written and the fugees were not dethroned.

Aint no nicca was just a pop[..] records that totally threw the whole album off. listening to it you cant help but wonder..... What the !! is this? who is this high school !!? what is she yapping about?

Its Dark and Hell Is Hot

Came out in 1998, Smack dead in the middle of the shiny suit era, everybody was dropping the party songs and doing the flashy videos and having fun which is cool......

But X brought balance to the game. He brought back that gritty side, The street element, and he was lyrical (peep his verse on niccaz Done Started Something) he could keep it gully ( X is coming) Spit some roughneck !! for the ladies (Hows it going down) Tell great stories ( ATF, Damien) and get spiritual and poetic (The Convo)

for that I have to say Its Dark And Hell Is Hott is doper the RD

Yup,I really thought X was going to pass Pac as the goat and then !! just changed with the great depression and grand champion and his life kept getting worse.

The delivery and charisma part aren't mutually exclusive, they can be one in the same, but in this case they aren't. It turned into a career thread... I thought it was just album vs. album. [pic]
