it was never really considered a classic, what made it so remembered is how it sold like 700'000 units in 2 weeks with absolutley no promotion, no single, it just appeared on shelves one day most people didnt even kno it was out until it was on the news about how much its sellin

!! is still impressive, niccas nowadays got posters on every citybus with commercials on tv every 2 seconds to sell that much

I would say just about everything you typed is a classic. I still scroll to everyone of these albums and let it bang til this day! That defines classic to me. If years later I go back and it still can get play time after I have matured away from the time in which an album was released then its a classic and you dropped some classics there guy.

It's not a classic...

But it's definitely DMX's best and most cohesive album. The one that most defines him in my mind.

"It's Dark and Hell is Hot" has always been overrated as hell to me.

I just couldn't get into it. Sounded like leftovers from his first LP.

His first album had a better sound to me.

You're definitely entitled to your opinion, but I'm curious to know what you like more about "Flesh of my Flesh."

The production on "It's Dark" is eons better, the rapping is better, and it certainly holds up better today. Maybe it's just because I hate Swizz Beatz so much, but I think "Flesh of my Flesh" has a LOT of forgettable songs... I like pretty much every track on "It's Dark."
