Whenever an artist flops they always blame the label for lack of promotion. Many artists wouldn't do any better with good promotion. Examples are Fat Joe/Terror Squad and Benzino. Lean back and that Rock The Party bullsh*t got mad spins on top 40 radio, urban stations, bet, and MTV and still flopped baddly. How much do you think it cost a label to release a single, get mad spins on radio, make a video, perform promotional concerts, and all the media publicity? I think just to break even on all those costs the artist has to at least go platinum.
