Fat Joe Celebrates "Darkside" First-Week Sales, "They Mad At Me For Puttin' Out Good Music They Cant

Terror Squad leader Fat Joe has celebrated his first-week sales total of Darkside, Volume 1 after his solo project debuted in the Top 50 today.

Writing on Twitter, Joe tweeted his album sales and its performance as an E1 Music release.

"Re-Tweet: E1Music Congrats to @joeycrackts for selling 12,320 copies of The Dark Side this week & being the #2 indie album!!!"
"Why they mad at me for putting out good music real music music they can't make!!! DARKSIDE!!!" (Fat Joe's Twitter)

His album ranked within the Top 50 records on Nielsen SoundScan today.

Terror Squad frontman Fat Joe's Darkside, Volume 1 debuted on the charts this week at No. 27. After a full week on the charts, the rapper's E1 Music release has sold 12,300 records. (SOHH Sales Wrap)
Yesterday, Joe's rap rival 50 Cent mocked the new album with a video.

"I just listened to Fat Joe's record and this is all I have to say." 50 then puts up a copy of Fat Joe's Darkside, Volume 1 which has an animated smiley face crying with tears pouring down its face. "I didn't mean to do this to you Joe." 50 then proceeds to mock his rap rival with footage of a woman and men crying, all taken from different sources. The video concludes with a message reading: "Only 5,000 copies sold...d*mn Joe!" (This Is 50)
Recently, Joe said he intentionally focused on putting street and commercial records on the album.

"This album, I just wanted to take it to the streets crazy," Joe said in an interview. "When I go on tour I see a lot of my fans that are real loyal. They all kept telling me, 'Yo, Joe we want you to come back to the hardcore.' I tried to make them happy so I just took it all the way to the dark side. I'm just trying to give 'em that balance of that real street gritty Fat Joe -- the gangsta early Fat Joe -- but at the same time who also knows how to make hit records." (VIBE)

He won in the streets but he lost as a business man in this music biz, you're here to sell records not to sell !!.

As listeners and Hip-Hop fans....why should we vote 'Yes' on Fat Joe to stop making music because of WEAK RECORD SALES. Does record sales really affect how we (listeners) should appreciate an album.

As music listeners....who gives a !! about sales (it's all hyped up), as long as he continues to put out decent albums like 'The Darkside', we should be happy & content with it.

album is fire and next Darkside he needs to go even darker. preferrably all preemo production. the wors tthing he can do is take these numbers and feel he has to go back to southern !!riding because he's slowly k!lling his fanbase with all this back and forth.
