Pump it Up was #30 on the charts. You Budden groupies act like it was a #1 smash. And non of his others singles did !!.

I've been a fan of Joe Budden since late 2002 when I got a hold of the Salutations mixtape. Joe had deep !! that leaked before the album, but let's be honest, it's nowhere to the level of the stuff that he puts out now.

I think the failure to realize sales success with his debut, the problems he had with Def Jam, and the struggle to even get back to the place he once was have all contributed to the type of music that he puts out now.

And with that said, you could tell he was artistically different than your average rapper from the beginning. Look at the chance he took with Survivor. He's always said that writing was therapeutic.
