It might have been almost two years since The-Dream last performed, but it didn’t seem like he’s missed a step. Last night in NYC at SOBs, The-Dream rocked out for a sold out crowd. In the first of two back to back shows, The-Dream performed some of his biggest hits and gave the fans one of the most intimate performances. Oh yeah, Hov and Bey were in the building!! Also be sure to look out for Terius Nash footage tomorrow.

“I haven’t done a show in close to two years. And ever since then, there’s like, four niccas that sound like me now. I’m just being honest.”

i can dig the dream.. the weakend is too emo for me..

i feel like im listening to rem or some !! when i hear the weekend.

i can never make it past 30 seconds with all that wailing going on..

and the dream is a much better writer than singer

Some people hear a lot of The-Dream in The Weeknd. The Weeknd is kinda like you on drugs—literally. I wanted to know your take on The Weeknd specifically.

I think he’s an incredible melodically driven artist. People often say to me that he sounds a lot like what I do, and I’m sure that the influence is there. But he’s not me, nor is he trying to be me. He has his own culture of those guys that like that music. He’s an artist first. I’m a songwriter first.
