hes not all that lyrically...i dont wanna say the album is trash or whatever, but i dont think common in my personal opinion deserves a 5 or XXL on a album..hes just not that nice...Talib smashes him and he aint all that compared to great artist in the industry...i guess im not into all that afrocsentric/80's rap...

4.5 is a fair rating, kanyes verse on they say stops the album from being perfect, i think his verse ruined the track.

Common got what he deserved. They rated it fairly. You acting like saying a album is a 4.5 mic its garbage. lol That's a great rating. And that Made Men album wasn't that bad. I'd say a 3.5/4 mic album no lie. Problem is Benzino went and boosted it to a 4.5 which it didn't deserve. But it was still a good album. But just because he made a mistake back in 1998 don't mean all their ratings forever are trash. I'd be pissed if they gave Common a 5 mic because it don't deserve it. And XXL has the worst ratings ever they gave Geto Boys a L :wow: And gave Scarface The Fix a L :wow: The Vibe has better ratings then XXL. People hate on the Source reviews just because Eminem said. !! that I ain't no bandwagon nicca. I still read the Source and they usually pretty much on point with they ratings.

took the words right outta my mouth.... xxl ratings are by far the least on point...niccas saying that the source took sides on a beef....what and xxl didnt....bullish.... yall are too quick to give an album cla#sic status... i mean 50 releases an album and it gets ripped...10 minutes later niccas are like oh its a cla#sic.... cla#sic albums are suppose to be "cla#sic" not great but "cla#sic".... there should only be a few....right now i think people are claiming way to many cla#sics....how can you have 20 cla#sic albums.... in my opinion there are about 6 and that is stretching it

But it's not that it's perfect. People are saying they'd usually give it 4.5 and that's fair, but judging by how the Source usually rates (overly high usually) then it should get a 5.

they dont though they gave like 10 albums 5 mics....if they think its a great album they give it 4.5 and so on down what do you want them to start giving out 4.12625 mics

What are you talking about no album has gotten a 5 mic since 2001. And since 2003 only like 4 albums have gotten a 4.5

I like common album but it's missing something made more songs maybe a dance song i don't know but it's a real good album 4.5 is good we now he got the lyrcal game down to the T from back in the dame i see the chick in you but some time people want to see you do something different and then when you do it it's like i like that old common or 50 or Wu or who ever hiphop switch faster than a chick. Also he got the XXL in the XXL Mag so it's all love but the funny thing is if he wasn't with Kayne he probably wouldn't get that shine that he getting now people in hip hop need a co-sign the rap fans that is.

EXACTLY... They should've left the Consequence verse on that instead... otherwise, that's the only perfect imperfection to my fav album this year.
