| By jiggyfresh1 - 02-15-2013, 07:27 PM - Boxden > The Hip-Hop Spot The Rev. Corey Brooks, known as the “rooftop pastor,” said he plans to baptize the 17-year-old rapper when he’s released from juvenile detention. Keef, whose real name is Keith Cozart, is serving a 60-day sentence for violating his juvenile probation. He was on probation for pointing a gun at Chicago Police officers. “I’m going to baptize him,” Brooks said. Brooks said he has visited Keef at the state juvenile detention facility in west suburban St. Charles. “I think people forget he is 17 years old,” Brooks said. “He is not a bad kid.” Brooks said the young entertainer “has had a chance to think. He is an entertainer, that is how he sees himself. But at the same time, he has a God-consciousness. He is not some terror who is wreaking havoc.” The pastor said he plans to baptize Keef at his non-denominational New Beginnings Church in the Woodlawn neighborhood. Brooks, who briefly flirted with running for Jesse Jackson Jr.’s vacant congressional seat, is best-known for camping on the roof of an abandoned South Side motel last year to raise money to demolish the building. In January, a Cook County judge sentenced a tearful Keef to 60 days in juvenile detention for violating probation on a gun conviction when he wielded a firearm in a music video. Keef gained notoriety last year for a gloating tweet sent from his account after the slaying of a rival Chicago rapper. In addition to his troubles in juvenile court, the rapper is facing a child-support lawsuit from a girl who alleges he fathered a child with her. | This world is so wicked. Here you have a young man that's actually trying to turn his life around through God and people are actually chastising him for it. I'm glad he actually realises that there is much more to this thing we call life than the bull!! he was rapping about. | |

| Typically niccas go away for a long time, and after years of being conditioned thru the hardship of prison life, try to seek something more for their !!ty existence so they find religion/spirituality. This kid does 60 days, and it's been half sentence and he already now getting baptized [pic] | |
