canibus s%$t the bed, what est@blished emcee could compete on a URL stage

Simple question, what emcee, active or in hibernation could take out a decent URL cat?

TBH think the list is thin.... It's a different environment... some of the lyrical cats will lack a stage presence.... got a few names in mind, want to hear some ideas

Being in a battle nowadays is like being it a poker game, you can lose all of your chips. And these rappers aren't ready to lose everything they've worked so hard for. I know Jay-Z would get off in a battle if he had to . I know he can set his mind to it.

We got budden, em, and jay z so far..... tbh I wouldn't haven't picked either of them... curious to hear why they were selected though

pocketchange made a GREAT POINT though... the juice isn't worth the squeeze for Jay Z.... hova could win 2 out of 3 rounds, and that would be a win in most URL circumstances... A lot easier to play the underdog in the battle game though...... but like he said, if he doesn't bodybag a cat, his STOCK will go down to the fans... as sad as that is, it's realistic...at the end of the day, he has WAY more to LOSE and wouldn't dare take the stage

Budden could write his[..] off, but would get k!lled on the presence angle.... let alone memorizing 3 rounds of 3 minute material... I get the impression that he would be overwhelmed in that kind of atmosphere... and I'm a big budden fan.....

Em is kind of in the same boat with Jay... he isn't battling random michigan cat's at the shelter anymore... Even if he was paid 100 grand to battle, he would probably decline

kind of looking for some realistic emcees....

We're all laughing at Canibus and how much of a fail this battle was - I totally forgot, but it almost remind me of how Mistah Fab EMBARRASSED Royce Da 5'9. Straight k!lled him on stage. Of course Royce is the better rapper and came back and k!lled Fab on wax, but as far as the face to face battle? ... he wasn't ready. Just like Joe Budden wouldn't be either. Same deal. A face to face for Budden? I don't see it. On wax, yeah, maybe. That's it.

Royce didn't even know it was a battle till he got there.
On top of that Mistah Fab used to battle all over the bay, he loves freestyling, dude has like 4 mixtapes of just straight freestyles.

soul on ice is prolly a top 5 CD to me.... My girl gets pissed making me listen to ras all the time lol. not that I care but anyway... .. but to be real, RAS has little personality, and it would be evident in a battle environment... Before grindtime fell off, they tried to get him a battle... wonder if he was their first choice before canibus? would of been cheaper[pic]

but you have to have some kind of presence to compete.... Diz would of done the same to RAS prolly, and I'm glad it didn't happen tbh....

I actually think plenty of rappers could do it, imo Canibus approached it wrong and to me it looked like he didn't take it as seriously as he should have and was just unprepared, if anybody from slaughterhouse really prepared for the battle like they're supposed to they would win fairly easily imo.

kass has the character and charisma to do battle with the best of them.

he had months to prepare though....and a decent amount of fans looking up to him, to at least if anything not embarass himself.... been following battle rap for a little while, and always hear cats say that going in the studio is a complete 360 from battling in a live settinng....

their is a reason that some people are shook to put themselves out their.....it's cool, i get them not wanting to hurt the stock... but the whole being competitive thing is kinda BS though... A decent underground rapper could net 10 grand easily if they wanted to....

I didn't say he didn't have time to prepare, i just don't think he used that time wisely, i'm not a fan of canibus though, but these guy perform infront of thousands of people all of the time, I really don't think it would be that difficult if they really put the correct effort into it, it's not like these battle rappers freestyle, they write !!, and the "est@blished" emcees, for the most part, are better writers than these guys.

If a guy like Ludacris wanted to write and memorize three of four good verses clowin some battle rapper, these dudes have the confidence and charisma to move stadiums of people, and you're tellin me, if fully prepared, they couldn't move a small room ?
