Can 50 pull it off??

 Can 50 pull it off??
By 1LynguisticMind - 09-07-2010, 06:30 PM - Boxden > The Hip-Hop Spot

Can he bounce back?

50 is at a big point in his career. Hes reached that point where he either is gonna spark up his old flame and be relevant in rap, or is gonna fade out if existence and make a bunch of straight to DVD movies. Real talk, BSID was a flop....the production was mediocre, the lyrics ARE RECYCLED...the subject matter is the same...and the public did not pick that !! up...A man who sold millions of dollars went on to sell 150k the first week...and struggled to go gold. I think that if he changed up his style...made music with more heart...some !! about his rise to fame and how it changed him, his son, how money changes people, and of course some club bangers...and not this GANGSTA GANGSTA in every song...he could regain his relevance. Im not saying Gangsta Rap is dead....I'm just saying that 50 over saturated the subject.

CAN CUUUUUUUUUUUURTIS pull it off?[smiley]

i think he can

yea pretty much. He gotta look at it this way. GRODT & The Massacre were successful because they covered the basic formula when it came to the singles.

Wanksta/Disco Inferno = Successful street single
In Da cLUB/Outta Control (Remix) = Monstrous Club Hit
21 Questions/Candy Shop = Single for the ladies but something the fellows can enjoy
P.I.M.P/Just A Lil Bit = Catchy/Hook Based Single
Many Men/Hate It Or Love It (Remix/Original) = Meaningful Single

It's the same reason why Lloyd Banks first album did so successful because it followed the same formula. But later on they insisted on doing to many pop/only for the ladies singles and thats when they began to slowly decline.

true... they recently always going for the ladies single...a good street single should create buzz..never thought about it that way...i just think hes played out the gangsta gangsta !! and should try new outlets....production is another thing i wanted to add he should go for different style beats...not the same grimey ones he's been using since 2004...i think he should use some old school features like nate dogg...on curtis all the bull!! features didnt come off well..

Wrong. What about "Ayo Technology" off Curtis? Justin Timberlake was HUGE back then (he still is) and the album flopped. What about "I Get Money" which had HUGE buzz? People got sick of his bull!!. [pic] [pic]

He's gaining momentum with things like Twitter and a few movies coming out. This album is his last chance, though.

He can make the best music he's ever made. He can make an album that is critically acclaimed... but what is that gonna get him? 2x plat?

The industry, the fans... they don't want good music. They want good gimmicks.

50 can definitely bounce back if he can pull another huge hit out his[..]. I Get Money was the last song that really had the classic 50 buzz (especially in the street). Baby By Me was the closest he got to having a slight hit since but it fell face-flat. 50's mixtapes have always been top notch but his albums as of recent have been lacking the luster he solidified in POTD and GROTD. He has to get hungry again and make creative music. One huge-hit can place him back on solid ground. It's just where he'll take the music from there that will affect his relevancy.

He's not appealing to these !!es anymore.

We all know Females are the main ones buying CDs.
Back in 2003, you couldn't pay this nicca to keep his shirt on
Had these lil breezies running around here going nuts for that nicca

And what dude posted about his formula is dead on.

He does need better production though.

I use his music for workout music, nothing more.

I say put out a lot of singles, whichever one gains the most buzz, move forward with that one as the single

He needs to actually put out good music, bottomline.

Every album after GRODT weren't very good. He had some hits but the albums overall weren't good. Bunch of filler stuff and just not a solid album. He was hot then so people could over look that and with strong singles, he pulled it off.

But like Biggie said, this beef !! is played out. That's all he does. Tries to start a beef before releasing an album to get buzz. Instead he should be putting all his energy into picking better production and stepping up his content and lyrics.

I love 50... I believe he will bounce back, I think no matter what though he should stop making music after his next classic album.
