Well who really care what Dipset is doing, cause obviously you do care cause you made this thread about a rapper you don't particularly care for. So you are in turn giving him publicity cause some who enter this thread may go and cop the album.

23,000 independent...not bad at all

23,000 x $10 (what Cam makes per cd sold) = 230,000 is what Cam made profit...the other $5 a cd goes to the distributor...therefore, independtly, thats a pretty good album....

what niccaz don't get is selling 4,000,000 records isn't !!, cuz of all the people cut into the profit...

4,000,000 x 0.10 (what a rapper gets off each album on a major) = 400,000 (profit off major album)...only the distributor/record company are making millions...

therefore, every rapper you see on MTV claiming they got millions after releasing their "debut albums" only really got a lil less than half a mill...

and thats if u sell 4,000,000....as opposed to selling 1,000,000 where you'd get $100,000 back...therefore, Dipset/Cam'ron are smart going independent, cuz they woulda only made $2,300 compared to their $230,000....

Bottom Line: Major Labels rip niccaz off...its some slavery !!...

^if the cd is 9.99 in stores, he is still getting about $5 an album...independently...

Juelz is on a major cuz he isn't well known enough to make money independently...

how the hell u guys think niccaz like Immortal Technique, Jedi Mind Tricks, Canibus, Royce Da 5'9" are rollin around wit loot like big time rappers, its cuz they make more a cd cuz they got less people to pay off...its simply the !!ing facts of the industry...

if Juelz was a well est@blished artist that could put some of his own money into his projects, he would go independent n make more money...

Cam'Ron with "Killa Season" threw a lot of money from his pocket into the project, that is why he got most of the money off the project...

Canibus, for instance, on "Rip The Jacker" & "Micclub: The Curriculum" threw down his own money to handle production costs/studio time & guest appearances (usually all of this is done by the major label)...Canibus sold 52,000 on Rip The Jacker......the cd was sold for around $17.00.....he was makin $10 per cd...he made $520,000 back, the rest of the money went to Koch...thats why he still rolls around in a Rolls Royce n !!...dude hasn't made the mills since '98...but he rich as hell cuz he went independent...
