Don't mind me though, I like to listen to ignorant rap just for the stereotypes. Same way that I'll listen to country for the stereotypes. It's hilarious. How the !! are you going to sign a record deal & not call everyone you know up and tell them "Yo, I'm about to do something great with my life. I'm going to rap about all of the stuff that we came up with, because I'm going to pay tribute to my roots. But I'm not about that anymore, I don't need you bringing drugs or guns around me anymore. I'm going to have myself a good life now." You can take 'em out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of them. Same !! with most pro athletes [pic] You're over there claiming those low class punks as your leaders? [pic] Not saying Eminem is a leader. He's actually stuck in the trailer (psyche wise) and has taken the past 5 years to find a silver lining. Let your idols continue their "gangsta" !!. What the !! does success matter after you've been shot? What's the message, if not, "don't be an ignorant ghetto punk"? [pic] | ||

| as much as he was totally out of his mind and his league, bugging out even thinking he stood a chance w the whole em thing, i give him respect for admitting he was wrong and growing as a man. still a cornball that used the source to promote the made men and his son. but, respect. | |

| White America has co opted every form of Black American cultural expression it could. And consequently so has the world. Black American music drives every popular music for today & through out history. Rock, Hip Hop, Jazz, & Blues are prob the 4 most popular forms of music today. All are distinctly created by Black Americans. Even Techno/D&B/Dubstep are derivitives of House Music, which was created in the Black Chicago club scene. House was a off shoot of Disco. Again, from the Black/Latino gay club scene in NY/Phila. There is no modern music out today, minus Country Music, that that comes from America that wasn't originated by Black Americans. Yet all of these music forms have predominately White consumers. So it only makes logical sense that when a White artist emerges that can perform these art forms on a level similar to the Black artists, the audience (i.e. White people) will hold them in higher esteem. Higher than even their Black counterparts who have performed similarlly. Em is just another branch on that tree. Benzino's only mistake was believing he actually had an audience that cared. | |
