I actually thought the same thing. Even more Drake respect Aaliyah and I am sure he wouldn't do anything out of line or disrespectful. You feed the fans/win money (even though its not about money) you continue her legacy. Tim/Missy surely will be willing to work with Drake both of them said it. So in the end a respectable album will get released.

I think the family just wants to let things stay how they are and let her truly rest in peace (which is respectable).

I said this in another thread, it's possible he could have avoided the family all together and gotten the tracks that Static Major did with her. Her family's never supported any posthumous works AT ALL so it's become clear that her family doesn't have rights to her name, image, logo, music, anything and that her Uncle (the guy that owns her label) has no problem selling them out.

regardless if her family owns her masters or not, if the family of a deceased artist says they don't support you using their son, daughter, father, whoever to make new music and make money, it's a bad look to do it anyways.

Especially with Drakes history of having this Aaliyah obsession. Sh*t's weird and if they don't support it he should cool out with it.

did they say they were cool with it originally? Didn't really follow the whole story and don't know how it came about.

i agree with you. i never really listened to any of her songs until missy and timbaland came into the picture. her singing wasn't all that great..it was alright.

why all these people who would never put anything else out from her care..let the public hear some unreleased music and enjoy her voice again..her fam ,timbo and missy need to fallback and just let it go.let this clown snowflake just release it because they sure had no intentions of doing anything else or it would have been done years ago
