Bernie was starting to blow up after King of Comedy, which Steve was jealous of. So he basically went behind his back trying to take Bernie's role in Ocean's 11, saying he would be better suited for it. I'll have to find the interview where Bernie talks about him trying to sabotage his career. | ||

| Steve has always had his moments but he is vastly overrated and nowhere near a King Of Comedy. I'm not dissing him or saying he sucks just saying he shouldn't be held in that high a regard. The dude is entertaining and I've paid money to see him and would probably do it again but to say he is all time great goes way above the line. It's crazy how him, DL and Ced blew up in the mainstream's minds off of a tour they named themselves Kings. If they were athletes they would have been ridiculed by everybody over that. Oh well, good career dude and good luck to him in all his future endeavors. | |

| Steve Harvey is the type of comedian that i can sit and watch with my mother and my grandmother. I respect him for that. ITs too easy to make jokes about Mike tyson, Michael jackson, talking about legalizing weed, How ur dad doesn't wear underwear at PTA meetings, how getting drink with white people is not a good idea i mean !! all of those topics have been discussed way too much !! is boring and repetitive. I respect Harvey for being funny and Growing up and maturing. I love that fact that my Mom and Grandma can watch his !! and enjoy it. Maybe back in 92 or 95 he was talking bout choking on pubic hair !! IDK but i know that Stand up he did with no cursing was quite respectable. | |

| I can't find the whole interview. It was in a 2003 GQ magazine though. In an interview with GQ, Mac was also vocal about fellow “The Kings of Comedy” comedian Steve Harvey. The star of the Chris Rock film, “Head of State,” went off on Harvey, who actually got him involved with "The Kings of Comedy." The magazine noted several years ago that someone allegedly representing Harvey supposedly called ["Ocean's Eleven" director] Steven Soderbergh's office and asked him to reconsider the casting of Mac. The caller argued that Harvey was more popular. "Man," Bernie says, "I heard about that. I was told about it. You know these people. Are you surprised? Tell me, are you really surprised? It's always about him.” As he continued to accuse Harvey of showboating, Mac continued, “Go back and look at “The Kings of Comedy” tapes. Whenever he introduced his buddy [Cedric The Entertainer], it was all about himself. So, yeah. I knew about it. Did it!!me off? Nah. You can’t!!me off. You ain’t that good.” | |
