Canada's healthcare isn't 'free' they get you on other things like groceries / cigs / gas... etc.. nothing is ever free, anywhere.

The quality of our healthcare will suffer from this reform...instead of waiting at the doctors office for a couple hours you will be waiting weeks. Our health care will become rationed much like in communist countries. The governement will have all the power in saying who can be covered and who can't. Elderly people will have no coverage. Government will tell them you want to be covered?? !! You ...your at the end of your life..lets cover the younger generation...Ultimately the importance of this issue is giving government complete control. Obama has said from Day 1 this is not going to be a tax. Now that congress ruled obamacare unconstitutional, Obama now will make it a tax to make it "legal". Oh yea and by the way, Obama Care will not take into effect until 2014. Why?? Because thats when Obama leaves office. He will not have to suffer any back lashes from his reform.

Theoretically a socialist society sounds great in terms of caring for everyone, but it limits you as an individual and a nation. Look at Europe and the state of their coutries.

If they really want to solve this healthcare issue they should allow individuals to buy health care from other states, which in result decrease premium prices. I hope America wakes up soon because were headed in path were our freedom will slowly but surely be taken away.

You people who take the argument from doctors who are saying "NOW we will have to work to harder and wont make as much money as we thought" are crazy.

Going into the field of helping people with their health shouldn't be for the purpose of getting rich. It comes with making a decent living, YES, but doctors who have that capitalist mindset need to go and get some experience or education with Financial Market and work on Wall St. That mindset is not what I want a Doctor to have.

With that being sad, !! any doctor who mad that this reform may hurt their bottom line despite understanding it will ultimately save more people lives.

Boy this is straight foolish. You know what people will have to pay for insurance. People who couldn't get insurance will get it now. The government ain't handing out insurance. It told the insurance companies you will cover people who had per existing condition. U will not put caps on insurance for people and you will make plans affordable. People who don't get it will have it taken out of their tax return. If you don't have insurance and try to get seen good luck. They cutting Medicare (which saves taxpayers billions) they increasing Medicaid for old people to help lower their cost. They taking away the monopolies of the insurance and drug companies. That means more companies fighting for your money which means the cost goes down. Also when laws get pass they don't become effective immediately they take years to take effect. That's why they say you never can tell what a president done till he out of office.
