| By PR0TENTIAL - 03-07-2011, 02:36 AM - Boxden > BXGS Video Game Reviews [pic] Developer: BioWare Publisher: Electronic Arts Release Date: US - March 8, 2011 / EU - March 11, 2011 Genre: Role Playing Game Dragon Age II tells the story of Hawke, a survivor of the Darkspawn horde's destruction of Lothering (a village featured in Dragon Age: Origins) who rises to become the Champion of Kirkwall. Using a framed story format, Varric, one of Hawke's companions, tells Hawke's story to Ca#sandra Pentaghast, a Chantry Seeker; decisions made in the game by the player determine more than a decade of history that changes the world of Thedas forever. Choices that the player made in Dragon Age: Origins can be imported and reflected in the world of Dragon Age II. Choices from Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening will also be imported, if the player decides to take this action. Dragon Age II has a non-linear framed narrative story, mainly based on the protagonist's choices. Romance is reportedly possible with party members or with non-player characters throughout the game. New combat experiences and spells have been added. Dragon Age II is set in a new area known as Free Marches, which is referenced in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening but not shown. Unlike Origins, Dragon Age II features a fully voiced main character, which is part of the reason the main character's race is fixed. A new city called Kirkwall and a new dialogue wheel based on the dialogue system from the Ma#s Effect series have been added. In addition, races such as the elves, dwarves and qunari are being redesigned. The game takes place across a decade, and saved information can be imported from Origins as well as Awakening. This data will affect the background story of Dragon Age II. |

| I gave it a 9. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. First playthrough took me about 20 hours to beat. | |

| I'm leaning toward a 9 myself. I don't like that some things have been simplified a little from the previous game...But it doesn't make this one any worse. I love the rich story telling of this series, can't wait for the 3rd one. [pic] | |

| I didn't like the fact that there were no other towns to visit, got really tired of walking the same boring streets of Kirkwall. I understand the story revolves around the political unrest in Kirkwall and all but i would've enjoyed it alot more if there was more towns, more exploring, more markets etc I also skipped alot of side quests/companion quests towards the end because they felt too much like a !!ng chore. Game was a 9 at the start, went a bit downhill for me after that tho. 8/10

Manually move your ranged attackers (mage/varric) out of harms way, theres a good spot for them up the stairs. Try to make sure the dragon only attacks your tanks (warrior) so your mage and rouge can[..]ist. Keep a close eye on everyones health/lyrium/stamina and use when needed. Change your tactics too, set your Warriors to Tank/Scrapper, your Mage to Ranged/Damager and Varric to Ranged/Scrapper. Your best setup for this battle imo is Warrior/Warrior/Mage/Varric Last edited by |Roscoe; 03-17-2011 at 12:52 AM.. | ||
