| FSU in Georgia lineman top 4 Sometimes committing early seems like the right thing to do. But after awhile, many recruits decide they pulled the trigger too soon. B.J. Brand is one of those players. The Coffee High School offensive lineman committed to Georgia back in January, but recently decided that he spoke too soon. "I haven't really looked around at the other schools," said Brand, "I'm going to re-do (the commitment). I'll try to get it before signing day." Brand lists UGA, FSU and Auburn has his top schools. When the 6-foot-4, 323-pound guard does decide to check out other schools, Florida State will be right up there. As of now, the Georgia Junior lists Georgia, FSU, Florida, and Auburn as his top schools. "I'm planning on going to Florida State, but we haven't decided yet," said Brand, "I think it'll be a day (trip). "He (Dexter Carter) wants me out there. He came to the school, not to practice yet. We didn't really talk, we just met for a little while, he said he would like for me to play at FSU." Brand says he has offers from Georgia, Florida, Auburn, and a verbal offer from Dexter Carter that took place about two weeks ago. "I received a phone call," said Brand, "I remember talking to him about it verbal offer." The Coffee High School big man plays right offensive guard, but also plays on the other side of the ball as a defensive tackle. But Brand says he is being recruited strictly as an offensive lineman. Brand plans to take both the ACT and SAT this summer. | |

| E.J. Manuel to trim list With too many offers to count, Rivals100 quarterback E.J. Manuel wants to begin narrowing his college options. The 6-foot-6, 203-pound Virginia Beach (Va.) Bayside star plans to do just that in the very near future when he'll announce a shortened list. Manuel claims his first cut will be May 16th. "I'm planning to announce my top 10 on May 16th," he said. "Then this summer I'm going to take some visits with my dad in order to make a decision before the season. It's not 100% I'll make one before then and if it doesn't happen I'll take my officials, but I want to. "I plan to do a lot of traveling, riding around to observe these schools. If there's no chance to visit somewhere, that doesn't mean they are out of it and I'm fine with it being across country. If I believe Oregon is the school for me, then it's not a problem to go out there." Meanwhile, since coming away with top honors at the Elite, more colleges have offered Manuel including Penn State, Kansas State and Colorado. Obviously Manuel has his choices, but what will help him decide in the end. "It's going to be the coaching staff," he said. "With all of these schools out there, I've developed relationships with the coaches because they are all big-time schools." The Virginia Beach prospect plans to attend the Nike Camp at Penn State this weekend. Last season he accounted for 1,700 yards of offense and 12 touchdowns to just two interceptions. | |
