Swype Issue - Getting Blue Box

Hopefully someone really good with Android OS or iTyler could give us a hand here.. Basically this is what happened...

Other week I bought a brand new Galaxy S (i9000), not locked to any carrier (doesn't really matter anyways because its irrelevant to most of you because I live in Australia).

I installed a new ROM to my Galaxy S from the stock 2.2 it came with in box. These are the details.
OS: 2.3.2;
Baseband Version: I9000XXJVE
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.XWJV1

I flashed it through Odin after collecting all the files from some forum.

The flash was successful, had no issues except the fact Swype stopped working. All that happens now is I am getting a flashing blue box around the keyboard when I try insert text.

Since it is default there is no 'uninstall' button available when I go to manage applications and the 'Swype Installer' can't override the default swype.

I am happy to go through the directory via USB mode and change things but rather wouldn't get too technical with installing new ROMs etc. It's just a hassle managing all my contacts and downloading apps and the whole deal all over again and I just don't have the time n energy for that.

I should add I have tried the trick where you deselect then select the Swype input method. That hasn't worked. My phone is not rooted.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Wipe data 3 times, wipe cache 3 times then wipe davlik 3 times and re-flash the rom.

When you boot into your recovery screen (which should be clockwork mod) you will see these options. I'm not sure which Galaxy S you have, but to boot into clockwork mod, with the phone off hold volume up, the home key and the power button. Don't hold the power button longer than 5 seconds.

happens to me all the time, just long press the text box, select ur default imput method, then long press again select swype, and it should be working

Try SlideIT keyboard. Easy to find on 4shared, and works as good as Swype, if not better. And I been a Swype stan for a while now lol

I get some message that it isn't licensed for my phone when I do that
