Purifying the air with negative ion purifiers

Purifying the air with negative ion purifiers
By fatboi1 - 09-03-2009, 10:03 AM - Boxden > The Faculty of Science

Anyone ever use it? I need someone to elaborate what's the maximum range the negative ions go to and what increases its range. Reason I'm asking is because a while ago, I bought some little car air purifier touting to purify the air with negative ions but I didn't really see a difference. I wanted to know if an imbalance can lessen the efficiency of a negative ion emitter e.g., more positive ions than negative?
Also Check out this cool video of a negative Ion light bulb clearing smoke.

Well apparently the bulb attracts other air molecules to ionize them. Therefore, I guess depending on the voltage output of the bulb, it will probably purify more spacious environments or areas. Again, it attracts molecules so I guess it really wouldn't matter if there is an unbalance of either. I don't even see why there being an unbalance would cause less efficiency.

The purifier emits particles/molecules that are orderless and tasteless so don't expect the purifier to convert the fart you let go in your car into a cherry flavored scent.

Lol thanks.
I gotta get one of these bulbs for my room when I move. I love having fresh rooms and plus since I might have carpet in it, I don't want that mildew smell if something spills.
