i was watching the today show. And some guy is attempting to beat this record. SO i youtubed the original because i never even heard of it. So wanted to share in case you havent either. its pretty cool actually

i cant find a video of the dudes interview about him trying to break the record..he was with the guy in the video i posted. but

hes going so high that hes pretty much wearing a space suit. just a lil slimmer

Terminal velocity of a human is 117-125mph in random posture. If the human has uses the bullet shaped position, (sometimes used by experienced sky divers or seen in movies), there terminal velocity can reach speeds up to 210mph.

Terminal velocity is when the gravity force upon an object is equal to that of the wind resistance.

Downforce (gravity)=Upforce (wind resistance)

Therefore, the aerodynamics/surface area of an object greatly affects the terminal velocity.

how did he reach 621 mph?

^ no wind resistance in the upper stratosphere. Wind is in the troposphere which is below the stratosphere.

The air at that level is very thin which means less friction and less friction means minimal heating upon descent
