[pic] President Barack Obama DNC Speech Complete: Romney in 'Cold War Mind-Warp' - DNC 2012 - YouTube

At turns, both humble and confident, sober and humorous, President Barack Obama walked out to an adoring crowd at the Democratic National Convention waiting with baited breath to hear him rea#sure them that everything would be okay.

They needed to hear from him that not only did he believe in America’s possibility, but that he believed in himself. They needed to know that having hope and expecting change does not make them naive or ill-informed, but rather is a display of faith in our president that has been tested, but one that can not be allowed to falter in the face of cynicism and suppression.

And he did not disappoint. Here’s an excerpt, followed by video of the entire, stirring speech:

The first time I addressed this convention in 2004, I was a younger man; a Senate candidate from Illinois who spoke about hope – not blind optimism or wishful thinking, but hope in the face of difficulty; hope in the face of uncertainty; that dogged faith in the future which has pushed this nation forward, even when the odds are great; even when the road is long.

Eight years later, that hope has been tested – by the cost of war; by one of the worst economic crises in history; and by political gridlock that’s left us wondering whether it’s still possible to tackle the challenges of our time.

His speech had no indication as to what his plans are to fix things. They were filled with empty promises that were already made four years ago. This guys tells us to be patient, keep hope alive blah blah blah. This guy is !!ing joke, its funny how the Dems moved the venue indoors were theres less seating as they probably realized they weren't going to fill that stadium.

you cant fix a 8 year mess in 4 years, you think obama can just snap his fingers and everything will be alright? politics doesn't work like that.

They moved it indoors because of the weather. They had inclement weather in Charllotte yesterday. You're forgetting the rain of hurricane isaac affects the entire eastern seaboard. Second, He said exactly what he said 4 years ago that its not going to be fixed overnight. This recession took more than 4 years to develop. It started with the repeal of gla#s steagall in 2000. It takes 4 years for a president's policies to be fully implemented. And Moody's projected that by 2016 if we continue on the current path, policies entact, we could gain up to 10-12 million jobs[..]uming there is no recession. Its funny because Romney claimed thats the number he'd create with so called "plans". I wonder where he got that number from?

You can say that it takes more than four years to fix th problems all you want, but shouldn't it be atleast on its way to being fixed? Guess what? It's not. We still can't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet. After four years there should of been much more progress than there has been. I give Obama props on getting bin laden, but there's where it stops. I don't like Romney either. I don't think either oneof these guys is the right one. Obama basically gave the same speech as he did in 2008. That's not gonna cut it. Rmneys problem is he just blames Obama instead of offering up a better plan. I believe Romney could definitly bring more jobs to the economy though, china's economy that is. I'm becoming very disappointed in my country. Our country. America needs to be more about holding ourselves responsible instead of blaming anyone else. We the people are responsible for a lot of our country's problems. A new fresh faced, more down the middle, stern yet sympathetic president is what we need. Someone who doesn't pa#s the buck. Someone who remembers what this country is about. I hate the sheep we've become. Don't let the media make your opinion for you. Think for yourself people. I'm out.
