Mario Ramiro, 23, becomes the 45th person to die in US domestic drug law enforcement operations so far this year.
According to KTVU TV News, citing police sources, two Vallejo Police officers were on patrol about 4:30am Sunday in "an area known for recent gang-related activity" when they spotted two men sitting in a vehicle. The police turned their patrol car spotlights on the vehicle to illuminate it. Police said the driver, Ramiro, got out of the vehicle and they saw the butt of a handgun in his waistband. Police said Ramiro, partly hidden behind the driver's door, reached for the gun and began turning toward the officers. The officers then opened fire, but Ramiro remained crouched behind the driver's door. Police said he did not comply with their demands to show his hands and instead reached toward the vehicle's center console. So they shot him some more. Police said they fired 30 rounds, and Ramiro slumped over.
Ramiro was taken to a Vallejo hospital where he died shortly thereafter. The passenger, Joseph Johnson, 21, was shot at least five times and was being treated at a hospital in Walnut Creek. After the shooting, police searched the vehicle and found not a handgun but an airsoft pellet gun, which they had spotted in Ramiro's waistband, and more than 50 Ecstasy tablets.
Ramiro's sister, Cynquita Martin, told KTVU that she watched the shooting from inside her home and that neither man posed a threat to police. She accused police of out-of-control shooting as angry friends and family members gathered in front of the police department Sunday afternoon. Video of the aftermath showed multiple bullet holes in the vehicle's windshield.
"When I went to the window I saw him [a police officer] re-clip his gun, hop on the hood and just start firing," Martin said. “His arms was out the window. My brother is slumped in the car already."
Ramiro's mother Cynthia also said the police didn't have to use deadly force.
"The Vallejo Police Department has k!lled my son, an innocent person sitting in the car and then they're trying to make it like it's a shootout," she said. "It wasn't a shootout. The only shootout was them shooting him."
The Vallejo Police and the Solano County District Attorney's office are investigating. Vallejo Police already announced that both Ramiro and Johnson were on parole for felony weapons violations.

ok. hold the !! up. the story just don't make sense. dude got out the car they seen the gun in his waistband. they told him not to move he starts making a move towards them they start to fire....he slumps over.....then they shot out the windshield and hit the other nicca in the car 5 times too??? no mention of what he did.
ok, questions.....so these cops get threatened and fire at the dude crouching door behind the door and hit the windshield and the other dude with any of those shots???? niccas need to hit up the gun range.....a car door is a big !!ing target.....they had guns drawn, time to aim and spotlights trained on these niccas so they could see everything. gtfoh with 30 shots and some hitting the windshield when the only threat was the dude behind the big[..] door. niccas can't shoot or they were aiming for the car OR LIKE SHORTY SAID THE COP JUMPED ON THE HOOD, RELOADED AND STARTED FIRING INTO THE WINDSHIELD.......that visual just looks crazy.
so the found the gun in the car after the shooting??? that what it looks like it said but they said that he had it in his waistband so got out with the gun in his waistband and crouch behind the door only to throw it back into the car??? and then not put his hands up if he did all that???? one would think that he's about to fire on these cats if that's the case, no??? that doesn't make sense. if he got out and crouched down, i would think he was going to buck and start firing, no??? he got out with it in his waistband and threw the gun back in to the seat only to then get lit up, and didn't give up before they lit him up because apparently, he didn't have the air gun on him, right??? am i missing something so far anyone??
so they shot the nicca...he didn't comply because they shot him so that warranted more shots because he prolly tried to get back into the car after getting hit a few times, he must not be dead yet. that must have been the time when they shot at the windshield to make sure everyone was dead.
i don't know....the sister said the cop jumped on the car and shot into the windshield....there's no mention of that from the police...can we check the hood for foot imprints or some other CSI !!???
hey, dude had an airgun that looks like a real gun. can understand the perceived threat. however, the story just don't sound right and you have the sister saying the cops jumped on top of the car and the mother saying that she doesn't think the k!ll is justified....that her son wasn't threatening them.....but i guess, the drugs and air pellet gun justify it enough. cops get to k!ll more minorities. i wonder what the repercussions will be, if any. this !! is becoming ridiculous already though. new training tactics or something has to be tried. this is getting worse and worse.
