Humans have evolved eating fat and then burning it as energy (hunter gatherers actually burned more fat as energy than carbs which we all think of as the norm fuel for our bodies these days.) How many fat hunter gatherers you seen? As humans — in our existence — our bodies haven't gotten used to the large amount of sugar (soda, flavoring, fruit drinks, candy) the typical American takes in, the starch (pasta) or the complex carbs like grains (bread, cereal, oatmeal, etc) a lot of people base their diet on ever since we've invented agriculture and stopped being hunter gathers (which in the majority of our history — we've been hunter gatherers.)
So naturally our bodies can't handle these things as efficiently as it can with animal fats. I'm not saying you can hog out on a !! load of meat and be fine, but humans have evolved eating meat, it just used to be a luxury (a big k!ll), and not eaten with every meal. I'm just saying all this Fat Free !!, all this sugar, all these grains and starches are what's making the belts in this country explode. Research has shown high grain intake actually is poison to the body, it causes inflammation. Even tumors, and has been linked to pancreatic cancer. Guess what Steve Jobs died of? Guess what his doctor recommended the st@ble of his meatless diet? You got it, grains. Soy as well, but grains k!lled Steve Jobs.
People obsess over fat content and totally disregard these other things and wonder why they aren't losing weight. Personally I try and only get sugar from a limited amount of fruits (banana in the morning, an apple or strawberries after dinner or before dinner, if that.) I never drink fruit drinks. I almost completely stay away from grains too, but I will have a day where I have some pizza, or if there's nothing else to eat, I'll have bread with a sandwich. I make tacos with lettuce as the shell now. Burgers, the same. I basically substituted bread with lettuce. No more cereal. I don't even drink regular milk anymore, just almond milk which is higher in calcium, and other vitamins and minerals. I stay away from beans, peanuts, cashews, etc. which are all grains and not nuts (their all beans, even peanuts.) I haven't had pasta in years.
My last check up and blood work, the doctor came back in the room and was shaking his head with a smile. He sat down and told me, "I almost never get to say this but — whatever you're doing, keep doing it." Said I was the healthiest person he's had in recent memory. The only thing that wasn't perfect was I was 0.1 over the scale for certain allergies. Which obviously (not to my knowledge) isn't really manageable via diet. It was pollen.
But yeah, I'm not huge, I don't really work out much, I do pushups, pullups, squats when I feel up to it. I ride a bike a lot instead of riding my car to do errands and go to the store etc. I get my vitamin D from the sun, in which all you need (as a white person anyways) is 15 minutes to get your needed dose of vitamin D. I look younger and better than I did when I was 18-25. I'm 26 now, a lot of my friends are all chubbier, they just look older in the face and ones I hadn't seen for as low as 2 years told me it looked like I actually got younger somehow.
I didn't tell them why though because we run in the same circles and that means more !! for me because I'm a horrible person and friend, as well as a !!ing !!. But I don't know y'all so I'll share the knowledge. [pic] |

How long have you been practicing healthy living? I'm trying to start now, but I'm scared all the unhealthy !! has already started to catch up with me. Way too much candy and quick food, tons of booze and weed too. I'm not close to fat though so you would think i work out but i really just walk at least 10 miles per day and i used to work out on the regular a few years back just haven't gotten back into it. But I'm ready to start now and fix my organs |
