Oct 12 - Ahmadinejad warns of 'Weapons of Ma#s Media'
By ---Max-Payne--- - 10-12-2009, 08:07 PM - Boxden > BX Daily Bugle - news and headlines

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Western powers have used full-fledged psychological tactics as a lever to influence nations against their better judgment.

Ahmadinejad said some regimes, including those in Israel, are using propaganda campaigns and psychological tactics as their prime weapon-of-choice against other countries.

"Once you take away these weapons, there is not much that they can do," said the Iranian President at a conference on media and psychological war in Tehran on Sunday.

He described the sheer lack of world action against Israeli war crimes in Gaza as a direct result of western propaganda campaign. "The Israelis have k#lled Palestinians from day one and yet they still come across as innocent victims in the world," he said.

Regarding the US invasion of Iraq, the president said they (the US) deploy their soldiers from thousand of miles away to Iraq and take control of all of the affairs of the Iraqi nation and then accuse others of meddling in the internal affairs of the country.

Elswhere in his remarks, Ahmadinejad brushed off the concept of 'Western-style liberal democracy', saying that real political oppression can be seen in the US and European societies.

"Claims of pluralist democracy in the West is nothing but a big lie," said the Iranian President.

The Iranian president said more than one hundred thousand people demonstrated in Pittsburgh in protest of the G20 summit, which did not receive attention in the Western media. But if 2000 people demonstrated in a country, which opposes US policies, then the incident would make headlines for a long period.

Ahmadinejad's remarks were a follow-up to his address to the Islamic Radio and TV Union[..]embly last week.

In the meeting, Ahmadinejad said corporate media has turned into a weapon of subterfuge, with the sole aim of advancing the West's political agenda.

He went on to cite random examples of political bias in US and European media outlets, including the scant media coverage of Israel's three-week attack on Gaza and the lack of media attention to the brutal murk of Marwa el-Sherbini, a pregnant Egyptian woman who was st@bbed to [rip] in a German courtroom.

Pot calling the kettle black..

If you're referring to Ahmadinejad then you'd be talking about how ironic it is that he calls this out?

How so... I don't really sympathise with Iran but he was a victim of this very process when a BBC interpetator !!ed up and mistranslated his speech, and told the world he wanted to wipe Israel off the face off the Earth..

Then almost every media outlet in the world repeated this, despite the BBC apologising and retracting their interpretation..

So how is it ironic that he says this? Particularly given that example, America interferring with Iran in the 50's, the providing Saddam with weapons to attack Iran.. then providing Iran with limited weapons to f!ght back (iran-contra..)

Don't act like the west or media is innocent..

Don't act like the Iranian Gov't doesn't consistently deny the holocaust and isn't producing nuclear material as we speak. Everyone knows Ahmadinejad is a !! and has more then likely been ordered training and the sending of soldiers in Iraq to k#ll our troops. I'm not saying it was the right choice to go to Iraq but half this war is now strategic because of Iraq's location in between Iran and Isreal. Now he'll blast the Isreali's, but it's never a problem that there's always cease fires ended by mortar and RPG attacks into Isreal. His own people are standing up because his corrupt gov't put him into office again, he should worry about a revolution in his own country rather then making bias statements and constantly putting his foot in his mouth.

1) denying the holocaust proves nothing except that he's inept at history.
2) they're allowed to produce nuclear material as are all countries.
3) they're even allowed to build nuclear b0mbs, Iran is an internationally recognised state therefore has soverignty over its people, territory and actions. The UN only has a say against this because Iran is still a member.. if they chose not to be it would be perfectly legal.
4) America has defied UN resolutions before and the UN international court of law rulings (Nicaragua contra).

You need to provide credible evidence to back that blatant opinion piece up.

It's funny because last time I checked, even the highly resourced CIA couldn't prove that one.

Agreed. But Israel is another state with blood on its hands.

Now he'll blast the Isreali's, but it's never a problem that there's always cease fires ended by mortar and RPG attacks into Isreal.
Well obviously those Mortars or RPG's weren't fired from Iranian territory given they're limited range weapons. Palestine or Lebanon most likely..

I would speculate that those attacks happen because Israel occupies pre-1967 Palestinian land and their settlers continue to build on it.

His own people are standing up because his corrupt gov't put him into office again, he should worry about a revolution in his own country rather then making bias statements and constantly putting his foot in his mouth.
How many rioted in Iran? Thousands? Tens of thousands?

There were 300,000 protestors at the World Trade G8 meeting in 2001.
