Jul 25 - Muppets Dump Chick-Fil-A Over Gay Stance

Last Friday, the company behind beloved shows such as "Fraggle Rock," "Labyrinth," and "The Muppets," severed ties with Chick-Fil-A due to the fast food chain's CEO's opposition to same secks marriage.According to "Muppets" fan site ToughPigs.com, The Jim Henson Company had partnered with Chick-Fil-A to feature Jim Henson's Creature Shop toys -- "essentially a plastic tube with cut-out features for customizing your own puppet" -- in their kid's meals from mid-July until August 18th.

However, on Friday, the Jim Henson Company posted the following statement to their Facebook page.

"The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over fifty years and we have notified Chick-Fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors. Lisa Henson, our CEO is personally a strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we received from Chick-Fil-A to GLAAD."

With this, The Jim Henson Company joins the ranks of Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, who has*vowed to block Chick-fil-A from opening a restaurant in the city, office star Ed Helms who tweeted that the chain had "lost a loyal fan," and the countless individuals who have taken to social media to voice disapproval, including those planning a national Same secks Kiss Day on August 3, in condemning the Chick-Fil-A's CEO'sopposition to same secks marriage.

This entire issue is stupid. It's not like they're refusing to serve homosecksuals, at their resturant. They're simply against the lifestyle. It's seriously to a point where you're not allowed to have an opinion anymore.

Oh, and to show my support.....

Ordering that 12 piece nugget with the chicken sandwich and large milkshake after work...........

You are no longer allowed to have an opinion on gays. You will be vilified if you voice anything outside of support. The company never discriminated against gays in any way. They just dont support the movement and what else do you expect from a resturant known for its religious views? Hell Chickfila doesnt even open on Sunday. Cant see myself boycotting Chickfila.....its !!ing delicious.

Same goes true for any company that does agree w/any sub-culture in the US. Whether it be a "Hip-Hop" Culture or a Muslim culture. You're just bound to lose endoresements and business when you state your disagreement about a group of people[pic]

Two different types of Chicken franchises. Chick-Fil-A is more in the lane of Zaxbys, and KFC is constantly shat on by Popeyes. [pic] !! this bull!! I dont agree with the lifestyle and Im going to continue to eat at chick fil a knowing its a !! free zone now.

they don't discriminate, but they've donated like 5 million dollars to anti gay causes.

You can have an opinion on anything you want in the world. Voice that opinion though, and you will have to pay the consequence. Everyone thinks you should be able to !! on gay people openly for living an alternative lifestyle.

But if a company came out against black people, women, or any other minority, they will have to deal with consequences, so why doesn't the same protection apply to the gay community?

I can see why the Muppets would take offense. ^^ That is Kermit Love. One of the most famous and beloved of the puppeteers who ever worked for the Muppet company. He was also an openly gay man.

He was the creator of Big Bird and Snuffleupagus. And worked with the company til he died. Aint no way the Muppet corp gon accept this chicken restaurant discriminating, when as a company they never have.
