| The fools saying guns aren't needed and all that bull!! obviously don't understand that history always eventually repeats itself. If you knew anything about the 2nd Amendment and why it was put there you'd know it's meant to be the public's last resort against tyranny, the people who wrote it have explained this. I know you have been taught to believe that something like that "could never happen in a great nation like the USA," but that is exactly what the 2nd Amendment is about, to give the people at least some sort of fighting chance if ever facing some sort of tyrannical dictatorial takeover. But I know you're still rolling your eyes because that "could never never ever happen in America," right? [pic] | |

Why do you think they include the part about right to form a militia? This is exactly what people would do in a dictatorial takeover situation. You wouldn't join the military because it would obviously be a tool of the tyrannical state, you'd form local militias, gangs, groups, whatever you want to call it. What are guns going to do against tanks or drones? Wtf are you going to do without guns? Throw sticks and stones? What chance will you have then? And it's not like every single possible scenario during a time like that would involve tanks and drones, there would be instances where the people would have more of a fighting chance being armed rather than unarmed and helpless. A defenseless public are slaves and tools like you actually go around trying to help their cause. They can't wait to unarm us and control the Internet... their last 2 major obstacles...

In a situation like this would you rather have your local militia strapped up with automatic rifles and shotguns or strapped up with sticks and stones? Should be a no-brainer. You though, for some reason would want to make it difficult as possible to have any chance at all. If someone in that movie theater had a gun on them they could have shot that !! and ended it before more people got hurt, but you actually want the people to be unarmed and helpless so that wouldn't even be possible in your world. You actually think that making guns illegal would keep them out of the hands of sick !!s who do things like shoot up a movie theater. NEWSFLASH: They will get the guns even if they're illegal.

"The right of the people to keep and bear...arms shall not be infringed. A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the best and most natural defense of a free country..." (James Madison, I Annals of Congress 434 [June 8, 1789]) "The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -- (Thomas Jefferson) "...to disarm the people - that was the best and most effectual way to enslave them." (George Mason, 3 Elliot, Debates at 380) "Americans have the right and advantage of being armed - unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms." (James Madison, The Federalist Papers #46 at 243-244) "the ultimate authority ... resides in the people alone," (James Madison, author of the Bill of Rights, in Federalist Paper #46.) "Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any bands of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States" (Noah Webster in 'An Examination into the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution', 1787) "Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence ... From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day, events, occurrences, and tendencies prove that to insure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable . . . The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that is good" (George Washington)

| Some more random general gun quotes: The police can't stop an intruder, mugger, or stalker from hurting you. They can pursue him only after he has hurt or k!lled you. Protecting yourself from harm is your responsibility, and you are far less likely to be hurt in a neighborhood of gun owners than in one of disarmed citizens – even if you don't own a gun yourself. – Harry Browne Armed people are free. No state can control those who have the machinery and the will to resist, no mob can take their liberty and property. And no 220-pound thug can threaten the well-being or dignity of a 110-pound woman who has two pounds of iron to even things out … People who object to weapons aren't abolishing violence, they're begging for rule by brute force, when the biggest, strongest animals among men were always automatically right. Guns ended that, and a social democracy is a hollow farce without an armed populace to make it work. – L. Neil Smith (from The Probability Broach) Gun control? It's the best thing you can do for crooks and gangsters. I want you to have nothing. If I'm a bad guy, I'm always gonna have a gun. Safety locks? You will pull the trigger with a lock on, and I'll pull the trigger. We'll see who wins. – Sammy "The Bull" Gravano, whose testimony convicted John Gotti Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom. – John F. Kennedy Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the[..]aulted and better for the[..]ailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. - Thomas Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," Criminals obey "gun control" laws in the same manner politicians follow their oaths of office. – Anonymous ...arms...discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. ...Horrid mischief would ensue were (the law-abiding) deprived the use of them. -- Thomas Paine We should not forget that the spark which ignited the American Revolution was caused by the British attempt to confiscate the firearms of the colonists. - Patrick Henry | |
