PS3 to work with Microsoft Xbox 360 and Vice Versa?

Some shocking news about PS3 coming from Tetsuhiko Yasuda, Sony Computer Entertainment Asia’s corporate executive managing director and senior vice president of Asia.

president of Asia, Sony expects to ship over 100 million PS3 game consoles and might work with Microsoft on video games that will play on both machines.

This is quite interesting, if Yasuda's comments are true.

Yasuda stated that Sony has not finalized the specific time frame for the PS3 launch, or the pricing. However, the company aims to launch the PS3 at the same time throughout Asia, but was unclear on when North America would see a launch date.

"Sony does not regard Xbox as a competitor. Rather, the company may even consider working with Microsoft to develop games together", Yasuda said.

Why on earth would Sony want to migrate with Xbox 360 games and vice versa? It shouldn't seem to be a good move for Sony, unless they want to make Xbox 360 games compatible with the PS3. It just doesn't make sense...

As you see the deal would go both ways it seems......so it'd probably be a better deal for microsoft wit the cheaper system and all....

if this is true then xbox 360 won't sell and ps3 will be on ebay for $4000 easy. IMO its the best idea Yasuda could think of in his life, thats only if it true

well if ps3 games play on 360 i think more people would buy that since its cheaper.....well thats what estimates say.

I think it will never happen, but if it were to happen, more people would buy an xbox 360, because it is cheaper and the Ps3 will be too high

Nah this actually might be good, if this goes down sony will be makin kingpin moves. if u look back at sony's history, they were actually the reason for the success of super nintendo since they were making some of the hit games and the snes sound chip was a sony, now when they broke off from nintendo and made they own !!, the playstation, they got big as hell, now if they do that with microsoft its a wrap. sony would evenutally be the best source for videogames. well see.....

X-box 360 uses DVD games, the Playstation 3 is going to use Blu ray technology. I don't see how they'd be able to do what the article says. I call bull!!.
