Feb 18 -The white supremacist and black gang member who joined forces... 'to make meth'

Charges against a white supremacist and black gang member over methamphetamine operations revealed an unlikely fox and hound relationship overcome by money, police said.

Richard Tries, 38, a member of the Aryan nations, teamed up with Robert 'Biz' Swinney, 22, a documented gang member, in what sheriffs in Franklin County Missouri say was an impressive scale of meth distribution.

'It was all about the money,' Franklin County sheriff's Cpl Scott Briggs told STLToday. 'They put away their differences to get the job done,' he said.

The duo face federal charges of conspiracy to make meth, possess pseudoephedrine and drug-making equipment, distribution of meth and maintaining a drug-involved premises among other charges.

According to undercover investigators, Swinney served as the supplier of large quantities of pseudoephedrine, an over-the-counter cold and allergy medicine, sold to Tries and others for cooking or reducing into the illegal drug.

With a 2006 federal limit on the purchase of pseudoephedrine, Swinney is accused of recruiting gang members, relatives and homeless people among others for purchasing the products at Walgreens drug stores for him.

'Just about every day, they were standing outside of stores handing out $20 bills asking people to buy a $10 box and keep the changes,' Cpl Briggs said of Swinney and his accomplices.

Among evidence, undercover investigators said that Swinney and his recruits were seen buying 200 boxes in October and November at four separate stores.

Investigators say Swinney and others among his team - with seven others included in their total charges - would then sell back these boxes to buyers like Tries at a cost of $50 to $80 a box.

Swinney admitted to living off the profits for the last two years.

Tries, who had been previously convicted of meth-related crimes, served as one of the many cooks for the drug.

'The magnitude of it impressed us,' Cpl Briggs said.

'At first, we were shaking our heads like, 'No, this isn't going on,' because we hadn't seen people that could get their hands on 20 to 30 boxes at a time since 2006,' he said.

That 2006 law limited pseudoephedrine's purchase to 9 grams every 30-days within a maximum of 108 grams per year.

There have since been arguments of limiting the drug's purchase to prescription only to further hinder it's use for illegal drug manufacture.

In 2011 Missouri Governor Jay Nixon supported a measure to make the drug prescription only but it didn't pass in the Senate.

Others argue against forcing law abiding citizens to pay a doctor for the drug's prescription when they're looking for immediate relief to a common cold.

In 2011 according to the National Precuror Log Exchange, a tracking system of over-the-counter cold and allergy medications that could lead to the production of meth, over 49,000 boxes of pseudoephedrine were successfully blocked by the 2006 limit.

This is nothing new. Look at biker gangs. They do business with one another on a regular basis. Regular law enforcement can't understand it because they are stuck in a 20-year lag. Please believe that if these guys had a slightly larger operation, they would have been on more of a fed/dea radar. People using pills to cook are the equivalent of crack dealers that whip their own work.

There are plenty of country chicks here that know how to whip it up with pills. They can even cook that sh1t in a plastic two liter bottle without using a lab.

Meth is a REAL PROBLEM. I mean, A REAL PROBLEM. Lithium is not meant to be running through your veins......................

These is rare for a white supremacist to be working with a black gang member but money make the world go round. 2 criminals seen the color green for success, but Missouri been known for alot of aryan gangs including Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, and California. You never read in a book about the side line deals in them masonic lodges between organized crime, and government.
