Tonight aerospace enthusiasts will hold their collective breath as NASA's Mars Science Laboratory, aka Curiosity, attempts to land on the red planet at 1:31 a.m. ET.

NASA TV—streaming below from the space agency's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California—offers a front row seat to history, and a chance to be among the first to learn the outcome of the rover's "seven minutes of terror."

Space doesn't get the attention it deserves. This is a huge event and it is just kind of getting brushed off to the side.

the future of space is mineral/resource exploration or should i say, exploitation. everyone should give a !! because it could mean new energy, supplements, etc. for us.

if they find usable material on Mars, consider humans as good as stationing there.
