The economy is !!ed. Most of these parents got retirement, disability, etc. It's hard enough to get a job, and because of that the crime rate is up, amongst a !!load of other negative things. I'm not saying that's a reason to live at home with your parents, though. But sometimes the circumstances just don't fit for you to move on your own.

Stay at home - dont pay rent and save up to buy a house
vs
Rent a house and pay another persons house off.

Majority of the people I know whom live at home have good jobs but are still saving for a 25% down payment for some real estate.

At least 75+ percent of my friends still live at home and that core group is anywhere from 22-26 years old. I see no issue with it.

Never saw a problem with it, especially if the people are in grad school or just starting their careers...then its not a problem at all

I don't know about yall, but I grew up with 5 dudes and 4 of them stay at home at 26. I can't do it. I went to college at 18 and had to come back at 20, a grinded it out and left again at 21 and never looked back. I can't see how people live at home. I have a rental house, a 3 year old, and a woman and just bought a Maxima. Dudes gotta step they game up. Every time I go back home, I gotta go chill at one of my college friend's house b/c my dudes still live at home. nicca gotta ask permission to go smoke... still checking in and !!.

I feel, if they wanted to be more independent and wasn't afraid of life, they would've moved out by now. I get the economy is bad, but find a way to be a man. They are waiting on the "perfect" moment to leave. Maybe they will leave whenever they find a woman, but Idk how they pull females at 26 at home. I look at them niccas like the movie Stepbrothers.

ITS NOT ABOUT EMBARRASSMENT....Its about no jobs, no money, rising rent, rising costs to live, rising gas prices so it costs more just to get to work, inflation so your dollar is worthless, and food costs going through the roof, and toilet paper costing more than a T-Bone steak.

Its also not about "oh kewl I have less responsibility living at home I'm just gonna stay here for the rest of my life" !! OFF.

I live at home because I have to, not because I want to. [pic]

why not still saving money. Plus I pay some of the bills at the house. Why rush into a mortgage when I'm still at my entry level job.

I'll be "moving back" for my new job. Since I will be out of the state for a month at a time, I'm giving up my apartment and crashing at home on my off time. All I will have left out of pocket is Sallie Mae and car insurance. My bank account will be looking nice. My goal is a nice home by 30.

!! I couldn't wait to move out got me a spot in the burbs 2 br had my little Lex. I was good for a few years and then the Roots said it best, things fell apart. I totaled the car and my job shut down the office I was in with in 2 months. I was also hit with a ridiculous bill, but I maintained for a bit while I was going to school. Eventually had bring back to the crib, it's cool though. I was !!ed up when I lost my spot but school has proved the step back was more than worth it.
