Trouble with PS3 media player

So im just using the ps3 media player for the first time and all the movies are stuttering does anyone know why and how i can fix this props for any help

You mean PS3 Media Server?

What are your comp and network specs?

Depends on the strength of your wi-fi signals, if you're using that. I keep my PS3 hardwired and stream with only one or two other laptops using minimal bandwidth.

Works best if hardwired, I used it for a min then stopped, got tired of the stuttering. I just plug my laptop into my tv now.

How's that working out for you with HD rips? I got a few HD flicks on my PC and I'm not sure if my laptop outputs a 1080p signal via HDMI to TV. Any way to tell for sure? I could def do without the lag.

Really wish it was possible to just plug my HDD into the my TV and select the movie off that.
