Resistance 3 Beta Augest 4th

"Resistance 3" looms in the early portion of this fall's onslaught of game releases, and for fans of the franchise, you're probably getting anxious to play the game. There was a single-player demo released last month – if you purchased the "Battle Los Angeles" Blu-ray – but if you're excited to dive in to online multiplayer, Sony says your wait is almost over. Early access to the "Resistance 3" open beta begins on August 4.


Insomniac Games' community manager, James Stevenson, took to the PlayStation Blog today to shed some light on how to get into the "Resistance 3" multiplayer "public" beta. I place quotations around the word public, because the beta isn't exactly open – at least not yet.

Starting sometime on August 4, those of you who received beta codes in specially-marked packages of "SOCOM 4," can jump into the beta. Just input the code through your XMB, and you're good to go. Never leaving behind their premium subscribers, Sony will also open the beta to PlayStation Plus subscribers on August 23. The beta will appear in the PlayStation Plus section of the PlayStation Store sometime that day.

So, if you didn't buy "SOCOM 4," and you're not a PlayStation Plus subscriber, when do you get to play some "Resistance 3" multiplayer? Well, that's not entirely clear yet. Stevenson states that there will be "additional ways" to access the beta in the coming days, including giveaways from media partners and Insomniac Games' social network presence.

"The "Resistance 3" beta includes two of our major maps in the game, the Seaside of Glamorgan, Wales, as well as a Trainyard in Bogota, Colombia," Stevenson wrote on the blog. "The public beta includes two of our five multiplayer modes, Team [rip]match and Chain Reaction (the other three are [rip]match, Breach, and Capture the Flag)."

The multiplayer in "Resistance 3" looks like a good time. Back in March, during the Game Developer's Conference, the development team stated that the multiplayer maps in this third outing would be smaller and more "intimate."



Short story: if you bought socom 4, youll be able to play Augest 4th before everyone else.
Everyone else (playstation plus) will join in Augest 23
