PS3 Update 3.15 Adds PSP Minis, Data Transfer

Sony has revealed PS3 System Software Update 3.15.

PS3 System Software Update 3.15, due "very soon," will add PS3 functionality to the PSP Minis as well as a PS3 data transfer option.

PSP Minis were originally launched in October along with the PSPgo, and from 17 December onwards, any Mini games you buy will work on both the PS3 and the PSP. You'll only need to buy the title once for it to work on both, too.

PlayStation NetworkSony notes that if you want to play Minis you've already bought on PS3, you just need to head over to your download list in the Store and download it again, for free.

Data transfer, on the other hand, will let you transfer "games, game save data, and videos downloaded from PlayStation Network" over to another PS3, although it appears they'll be deleted on the old PS3. Personal stuff like music, movies, and pictures, however, can be copied and kept on both.

Apparently, you pretty much just need to hook the two up with a LAN cable, plug your old PS3 into the TV, and follow the instructions on the Data Transfer Utility option on the XMB's System Settings. Sounds simple enough, but you can have a gander at the full list of instructions over on the EU PlayStation Blog.

No word on when we can expect the update but we wager it'll be around 17 December, as that's when the Minis will apparently work on PS3.

Everything requires sending Sony more money. Pointless update for the 100th time, these games aren't worth the money.
