I think my OG 60gb has bit the dust.

I turned it on and it was on for a few minutes and then when I came back to it the red light was flashing. I said ok no big deal, turned it off and proceeded to play Gears. Then I went to watch a movie later same thing. The light flashed a different color before going to flashing red, but I'm not sure if it was the YLOD or not. I have another PS3, so it's not a huge deal, I'm just trying to think of what to do next.

i mean sorry that happened fella, it's always frustrating but i had a slim for a good year now, used to have the OG 80 gig.... that thing was a beast lol it made it through alot of wear......

i only got the slim because of a deal gamestop had...i traded it in with like 2 games and 40 dollars and it got me a 160 gig slim.

but as far as what steps to take next? im not sure..... sony could maybe fix it for a low price.. or maybe they'd do a whole exchange with you since its the fat version.

theres also a way of getting into the ps3 recovery menu, that can also help..... helped me from sending my fat 80 gig once.

you can google it... im not sure of the exact steps... i jus know its something like u have to hold the power button till you hear two beeps then a menu pops up and you can only navigate it through a controller plugged in through a usb wire. usually restoring the file system or even restoring the system completely can help in alot cases.

yep i did same thing it was that 200 dollar trade in deal. I traded in 4 or 5 old games and a ps3 40 gb and got a ps3 slim for free. my 40gb wasn't even loading games right i had to do something. [pic]
