noob question (nba h2h scoring)

I'm new to fantasy basketball...in a h2h (each category) I get the idea of how the points work but here is what I don't get.

Do you have to sub your bench guys in every time they play to get their points, or does it just take whatever player you have at the end of the scoring week and total all their points. It just seems pointless to even have a bench if your going to sub random guys in every day. How exactly does that score?

yes, your player must be off the bench for his stats to count, if you dont check every day, then whatever day you do check, just make subs for the whole week. like make your roster for nov 5, then go to nov 6 then to nov 7 so on...

say you have someone on the bench, he gets 25 pts 10 rebs those dont count to your score

Yea, you need to change the roster for each day. Players on the bench earn you no points for that day.

The bench is just in case you have injuries, to get extra points when your main guys don't have a game, and so you can bench players that you have a feeling will hurt your points (like if a player is in a slump, he can hurt your FG%, TO's, and FT%).
