Gina Carano Not Medically Cleared, Off Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum Card

Big news coming out of the conference call for Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum. Gina Carano was scheduled to make her return on the card against Sarah D'Alelio but it appears that her medical clearance was revoked by the doctor. There are no details as of yet on why her clearance was revoked, but she will now not be competing on the event.

The undercard bout between K.J. Noons and Jorge Masvidal has been moved into the main card opening left by Carano's departure from the card. Gina being off the event will likely hurt ratings, but the bout between Noons and Masvidal is very solid and will determine the next challenger for Gilbert Melendez's Strikeforce Lightweight title.

We will continue to bring news of any new developments in Carano's situation, including hopefully an update on her future and if we will see her in the cage again at any point.
