According to Tuesday's UFC 127 conference call: (via MMA Weekly)
"They’re definitely in the title picture. Either guy that wins that fight, let’s face it, the reality is B.J. Penn has held titles in both weight classes, Fitch has fought for the title and has literally dominated that division for a long time, just couldn’t win the title."

"Either one of these guys that wins this fight is in the mix. They’re the No. 1 guy."

Additionally...Is the Winner of Fitch/Penn gonna have to wait a good chunk of months after the supposed St.Pierre/Silva fight?....Sucks for that guy.

There is a reason that there is a whole fighting style dedicated to Jon Fitch. The bearding style where he just lays on top and gives you a rash with his beard.

BJ Penn is one of my favorite fighters, but I am actually considering not ordering/watching this fight just because of Fitch. [pic]

There's something I don't get.
GSP has said many times that, if he goes to 185, he'll stay there (he doesn't want to go up for one fight and then come back to 170 for the next fight).

So these guys fight to be #1 contenders... to fight who?
