My SII isnt giving me any text message notification tones

As the title states its not giving me the tones. It is pissing me off and I dont know how to fix this !!. I have checked all of the settings in the phone and also the notification tones I have switched the tones also still no help. Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

have u tried restarting ur phone? and also could it be that its on silent?

Mine is doing the same thing off & on. Sometimes it'll just reset to the default ringtones & notifications. I think its something that AT&T needs to fix with the ICS update because my phone didn't do that until I updated to ICS.

That's what worked for me. I just ended up keeping my !! on Silent since the phone vibrates when I get texts.

Don't have the problem here. Make sure you're not using a separate texting app like go sms. It might conflict with the phone.

mine was doing this and it was because my google account automatically installed GO SMS since it was on my profile from my old phone. once i uninstalled it, worked right away.
