Has anyone purchased a refurbished computer?

I'm thinking of purchasing one rather then a brand new due to price .Has anyone had issues with one ? What is the difference in quality ?

I just bought one for my sister off of Newegg. Works perfectly.

i bought one from best buy through there refurbished section online... i got a asus 750 gb hard drive, 8gb memory, i5 second gen processor laptop for $545. ive had it ovr 6 months now and no problems yet and i cant complain about that deal becaue brand new it would be about 750

I have before and its still up and running.

Computer hardware is made to last generally so I don't see a problem with buying a refurbished computer, hell, anyone who builds their own computer has had to "Refurbish" theirs at one time whether by replacing a bad stick of ram or hard drive. However to be on the safe side, make sure you purchase one from a trusted place that offers a Warranty. Newegg would be ideal.

Also I imagine you're buying a refurbished computer due to it costing less, you can find computers on Ebay. My mom bought one for $90, all she does is browse the internet, Facebook and play some online Bingo. Her computer is great for what her needs are. Alot of people on Ebay build computers just to flip 'em and make a small profit or sell their old ones in order to fund their new computer project.

You can check Craigslist too for some good computer deals too.
