| What bank do you use and why? |
| By deem650 - 11-26-2012, 05:44 PM - Boxden > The Money Spot (finance/careers) I am currently on Wells Fargo and plan to get another job and set up a direct deposit. I am thinking about switching banks, what banks do you guys use and why? Also does anyone have any recommendations on a good bank with good rates for a savings account? |

| Navy Federal Credit Union & Chase. With navy fed you dont have to deal with the bull!! of regular banks if you get a charge from somewhere or an overdraft all you have to do is call and they will remove it with no problems. They have both secured & unsecured credit cards auto loans etc. and you can get one as long as you have atleast $500 in your savings. Only way you can get one is to be in the same household as a vet or be a spouse of someone with an account already. The downside is they dont have many branch locations or its located on a base. Chase I have because of branch locations & you can connect an outside bank to your account & transfer money between accounts both chase & non-chase bank accounts. I can also use my paypal account to do the same since I have the pappal debit card & you get cashback at the end of the month. Also have a couple prepaid cards lol. I just keep accounts based on different scenarios. For instance if I have to do something where i need to get a deposite right away I can use a moneypak and load it to paypal or a prepaid instead of waiting 2-3 business days. Its also a good way to manage what your spending keeping certain amounts separate. Good savings apy's stop yrs ago lol. Last edited by Duntaz; 11-26-2012 at 06:53 PM.. | |

| I'm with Amegy Bank (local in Texas) just because it's the closest to me. I don't care about the interest. And I don't use the bank that much either. Most of my money is with Etrade. But Capital One has one of the highest interest rates for savings account. Around 1.1%. Ally Bank is good too around 1%. | |

| HSBC/Chase HSBC cause I used to work there. They also HAD a high yield savings acct but it is current like the other banks. I will close soon cause lack of locations. Chase cause I work here. Though I have no problems with them, I wont make them my primary until i leave. | |

| I'm with Wells, they have banks everywhere coast to coast, except Lousiana I believe. Have no reason to move really, don't hate them and don't love them. | |

| If you're looking for interest rates, it might be worth looking at bankrate.com. They have a bunch of different things you can search for on there. | |
